Who We Are

Lenders Mark is a new age Bahraini company which uses the latest technology to support SME’s get bank credit in an easy and transparent way. Lenders Mark engine collects, processes and shares critical data required by banks for credit decisioning. The company has been formed by ex-bankers and technology experts who have significant experience in using financial technology in lending. The idea of Lenders Mark was formed after the founders noticed first-hand the challenges faced by SMEs when applying for bank finance. They believed a digital platform which was easily accessible to every SME in Bahrain was an immediate need if lending to this sector was to grow in the country. By building effective partnerships with banks, Lenders Mark will offer SMEs a range of financing options to choose from. Lenders Mark is the catalyst for bringing together the various parts of the currently disjointed ecosystem – Banks, SMEs, Tamkeen, Accounting Firms, Evaluators etc. In the years ahead, Lenders Mark aspires to be an integral part of the Bahrain’s SME lending environment and will play a key role in the Government’s efforts to boost lending to SMEs.

Why Lenders Mark

Despite the SME sector accounting for nearly 45% of Bahrain’s GDP, lending to SME by banks form only small portion (circa 2.2%) of overall lending. Recognising the need for growth of this key sector, the Government has taken several initiatives with a significant one being the requirement for banks to lend at least 20% of their loan portfolio to SME by December 2025. Lenders Mark endeavours to support the government initiatives and enable greater financial inclusion by closing the credit gap that has impeded the growth of SMEs. With Lenders Mark, SMEs of Bahrain will benefit from digital technology in the lending process making it easier and faster to get bank loans. More importantly, we expect Lenders Mark to build the much-needed trust in SMEs for banks.
